The cost of litigation, whether it is a business matter, employment matter, divorce matter, etc., can be extremely expensive. Hours spent at the courthouse waiting for a case to be heard can mount up quickly and cost thousands and thousands of dollars. When a case reaches the discovery phase (exchange of evidence), which oftentimes is a year down the road, it can be extremely time-consuming and frustrating. Sometimes, the outcome of your case simply comes down to which judge has been assigned to your case. In almost all cases, the risk can be high, the outcome can be disappointing and the funds spent can be much higher than anticipated. And, in this challenging economy, that can be devastating.
But there is a better alternative: Mediation. Mediation allows both parties to discuss the issues involved before a neutral Certified Mediator and is done outside the courtroom. A date and time is reserved with the mediator, and each side submits a mediation brief with exhibits, if any, in advance of the mediation session. Mediation strives to bring both sides to an agreement. Oftentimes, a matter can be settled in one session; sometimes it requires an additional session.
Whatever your matter involves, the Law Offices of Charles J. Katz and his associate, Elladene Lee Katz, Esq., can help you. Mr. Katz has been a Certified Mediator since 2001. Mr. Katz and Ms. Katz each have over 30 years of extensive experience in:
